The Human Touch
The landscape is generally perceived to be a natural environment but so often what we are seeing bears the hall marks of human impact. This doesn't necessarily mean a negative impact, quite the contrary, often some of our most enjoyed landscapes owe their very look and feel to human influence-take the rolling, deforested valleys of the Yorkshire Dales, laced with dry stone walls as an example. This collection of landscape photographs brings together images that rely, to some extent, on the human impact on the landscape. Hopefully, these images show a pleasing harmony between the natural and man made environment, scenery that would be all the less but for the role we've had to play in how it looks today.
