Inspired by Turner

This gallery is a collection of images inspired by the work of Turner. He is a artistic hero of mine and an inspiration for capturing my own local landscape. His combination of long brush strokes to emphasise movement in his ethereal, evocative works I have adapted to my long exposure photography. He also captured fleeting moments of time and light and here I have used shorter speeds. He created a sense of tension by juxtaposing storm and calm, light and shade and tone and texture and I have tried to apply his style to my own experience of the Kent land and seascapes.
