Field Notes
Images that capture the solitary character of a location are often very easy for us to relate to. We can find a connection with our own independence and solitude which we need to express and enjoy as we coexist for the most part in otherwise busy society. The classic shot of a lone tree on the brow of a hill is a good example where this works well. So it was with delight when I received a tip off from a friend about this field of Linseed, and even greater delight when I found a focal point in the telegraph and old water tower which provided that extra connection I felt was needed in a shot with such basic raw elements.
