Field Notes
Are there many better places for landscape photography than the Lake District? For me, it’s where I go to play, have fun with my camera and not worry about work. I know it’s we’ll photographed (where isn’t...?) but I just love to go out, all day, and look, explore and create my images. It’s such a infinitely interesting place with so much variety. This view from Loughrigg Fell took quite a few dawn yomps over 2 years before things were just as I liked them. Even for an ex Royal Marine it’s a hard trek up with backpack and tripod but all that is (nearly) forgotten when the mist swirls and the first fingers of light rake across the scene. Then it’s pure joy to be out there capturing ideas and using the kit so lovingly purchased and ferried onto location.
