Summerhouse Hill in south Kent is a fantastic location with excellent views from all points of the compass, from dawn to dusk. My first visit, early one summer morning ended in disappointment; the sun rose too far in the north to strike the hill and hid stubbornly behind cloud. I resolved to revisit later in the year when the sun rises further to the south and hoped for the first tinges of warm light to strike the hill before they filled the valley creating a tonal contrast to the cool shadows in the valley.
